Mining Guide

⚠️ Solo Mining Pool

This is a solo mining pool — no PPLNS, no PPS. Each miner mines independently.

Whoever finds the block receives the full block reward directly in the coinbase transaction, minus the pool fee. [Pool fee: 2%]

With low hashrate, you may mine for a long time without finding a block. If you want steadier payouts, use a shared BTC pool instead.

🚀 SHA-256 ASIC Quick Start

Modern SHA-256 ASICs (Antminer, Whatsminer, Bitaxe, and others) have a built-in stratum client — no software to download. Just open your miner's web interface and enter these pool settings:

SSL (encrypted)
stratum+ssl://btc.eu.ownblock.io:6161
TCP (standard)
stratum+tcp://btc.eu.ownblock.io:6262
Worker / Username
YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS.WORKER_NAME

Replace YOUR_ADDRESS with your Bitcoin address and WORKER_NAME with any label for this miner (e.g. bitaxe, s19-01).

Password
x

Worker format: YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS.WORKER_NAME

⚠️ Important: you must use a valid Bitcoin address and a worker name (e.g. bc1q…xyz.worker). Both are required — addresses without a worker suffix will not be accepted.

🔑 Recommended Address Format

We accept any valid Bitcoin address — Legacy, Native SegWit, or Taproot. That said, your choice of format affects how much you pay in network fees when you later spend your mining reward:

Legacy (1...)
Oldest format. Spending from Legacy outputs is the most expensive in fees due to larger on-chain script size. Avoid when possible.
Native SegWit (bc1q...)
Recommended. ~40% cheaper than Legacy. Widely supported.
Taproot (bc1p...)
Most efficient format. Lowest spending fees and enhanced privacy. Use it if your wallet supports it.
🚨 Never Mine to an Exchange Address

Always use your own wallet — preferably a hardware wallet (cold storage). Exchange addresses are custodial: the exchange holds your private keys, can freeze your funds, and may reject coinbase transactions outright. If the exchange shuts down or restricts your account, your mining rewards are gone. Use a hardware wallet (Ledger, Trezor, Coldcard) or any self-custodial wallet to keep full control of your coins.

🟢 NiceHash SHA-256

NiceHash is fully compatible with this pool and is the recommended way to rent hashpower. Use algorithm SHA256AsicBoost, set the host and port shown below, and pass your BTC address as the username.

Enter these values in the NiceHash order form:

Algorithm
SHA256AsicBoost
Host
btc.eu.ownblock.io
Port
6262
Username
bc1q…xyz.workername

Use your Bitcoin address followed by .workername — for example bc1q...xyz.rig1

Password
x

Any value works, x is conventional

⚠️ Important: you must use a valid Bitcoin address and a worker name (e.g. bc1q…xyz.worker). Both are required — addresses without a worker suffix will not be accepted.

⚠️ MiningRigRentals (MRR)

MiningRigRentals is compatible with this pool. However, be aware that some rigs listed on MRR may actually be NiceHash resellers — you may be paying a markup over NiceHash prices. We recommend verifying the rig source when possible, or using NiceHash directly for a better price.

🔒 Hashpower Rental

A hashpower rental experience is coming to ownblock.io — rent SHA-256 power and point it directly at this pool.

💡 Want Steadier Payouts?

Solo mining offers the full reward but also full variance. If you prefer smoother income, use a shared BTC pool with PPS or PPLNS payouts.
